Generalized Smirnov Statistics and the Distribution of Prime Factors

(1.2) log2 pj ≤ αj + β (1 ≤ j ≤ ω(n)), where α ≥ 0 and log2 y denotes log log y. The distribution of integers satisfying (1.1) is important in the study of the distribution of divisors of integers (see [3]; Ch. 2 of [4]). We present here estimates for Nk(x;α, β) = #{n ≤ x : ω(n) = k, (1.1)}, Mk(x;α, β) = #{n ≤ x : ω(n) = k, (1.2)}. It is a relatively simple matter, at least heuristically, to re...

Recurrence Relations for Quotient Moment of Generalized Pareto Distribution Based on Generalized Order Statistics and Characterization

Generalized Pareto distribution play an important role in reliability, extreme value theory, and other branches of applied probability and statistics. This family of distributions includes exponential distribution, Pareto distribution, and Power distribution. In this paper, we established exact expressions and recurrence relations satisfied by the quotient moments of generalized order statistic...

Estimates for the Generalized Fourier-Bessel Transform in the Space L2

Some estimates are proved for the generalized Fourier-Bessel transform in the space (L^2) (alpha,n)-index certain classes of functions characterized by the generalized continuity modulus.

Sharp Probability Estimates for Random Walks with Barriers

We give sharp, uniform estimates for the probability that a random walk of n steps on the reals avoids a half-line [y,∞) given that it ends at the point x. The estimates hold for general continuous or lattice distributions provided the 4th moment is finite.

On Generalized Empirical Likelihood Methods

We introduce estimation and test procedures through divergence minimization for models satisfying linear constraints with unknown parameter. These procedures extend the empirical likelihood (EL) method and share common features with generalized empirical likelihood (GEL) approach. We treat the problems of existence and characterization of the divergence projections of probability measures on se...
